Note the steel structure hose tower of Station 18 in the backdrop of the Pierce Arrow. Many Firefighters rappeled from this tower using a triple wrap on a ladder belt. This tower was deemed unsafe and put out of service due to rust in the early to mid 1980's

Station 18 was shut down in the mid 1990's. Located Northeast 131st Street/8 Avenue. The structure has been demolished to make room for the new North Miami Senior High School, scheduled to open in 2009
